The most important television programming about Dwight D. Eisenhower’s two decades of extraordinary military and political leadership, 1941 – 1961, is the 50th Anniversary edition of "The Eisenhower Legacy" series from Starbright Media Corporation.

The Legacy series of programs covers Ike’s leadership role for two decades on the world stage, a period of global war that claimed millions of lives followed by ongoing crises around the globe, a time of accelerating tensions with the USSR that threatened frequently to expand beyond local "hot spots" into nuclear war:

· As Supreme Commander in World War II

· Army Chief of Staff in the early Cold War years

· Supreme Commander of NATO following the outbreak of hostilities in Korea

· Political leader of the "free world" from 1953 until 1961

This series of programs will be augmented in 2009 by a new program in "The Eisenhower Legacy" series from Starbright Media Corporation. The new program, entitled "IKE: From Warrior to President," will evalute the eight years of the Eisenhower presidency, 1953 - 1961, based on the latest research by senior Eisenhower scholars. It will also provide the fascinating behind-the-scenes story of Ike’s decision in 1952 to leave his beloved Army, and Command of NATO forces in Europe to enter the chaotic political arena and seek the GOP nomination for President. Much new information on the Eisenhower presidency has been brought to light in recent years by scholars utilizing the records now available at the Eisenhower Presidential Library. Many of these scholars will be featured in the new program.

This television special will be written and produced by Dr. George A. Colburn, a historian who created, wrote and produced the other programs in The Eisenhower Legacy series for SMC. Like all shows in the series, "IKE: From Warrior to President" will be produced by SMC in association with Gancie Television, Inc. of Washington, D.C.
